And what of Halo Wars? Because it has the Halo name, it can't be AAA? There was hype and it received critical and commercial success, so...the question, Too_Hyped, is what constitutes a AAA title in your eyes?
Braid is a beautiful game and deserves its place on the list, but Halo 3 offers a fantastic package. No shooter fan should be without out. The best of its genre.
No Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy? =0
Might pick up a PSP when this comes out. Should be nice and cheap.
Didn't know this wasn't already out. The Mythic maps aren't great. I'd wait until it is free to be honest. I got it with Halo Wars.
Hannah Montana: The Movie...bet it has one of those ridiculous titles like:
Hannah Montana: The Movie - The Official Video Game of the Movie.
Anyways, may pick up the new Riddick.
Surely you should be posting that in the open zone?
Interesting interview, but I do believe Bioware are being rather conceited about the IP. They really need to slow down.
After reading this, I'm slightly worried about this game. I feel Bioware believe that the casual gamer will differentiate Dragon Age from the many other generic fantasy games out there. And I don't think that's the right attitude.
It's saving grace is that it is on the consoles. If it were PC only, it'd probably disappear a week after release.
I don't know if I'd agree about the quality getting worse though. You can't really compare them can you? I had a discussion with a friend about this:
If you say "Oh, the N64 is the best gaming console ever."
Surely you mean "Oh, the N64 is the gaming console I had the most fun with."
Many current gen AAA games are better than their predecessors. You may have had more fun with past games, but 'fun factor' and 'quality' are two differen...
There is not. I love them. But...how many of them need to feature in the top 20. How relevant is Rock Band after the license transfer for Rock Band 2?
Too many rhythm games in the top 20.
Amusing stuff. Especially the WoW nerds. I'm already thinking back to Role Models. =D I do remember reading about the whole HD-TV giveaway event + taxi ride in some sort of freesheet a couple of years back.
I have been to one launch event...that of the Xbox 360. I didn't even have one pre-ordered. All they had left were packages of Premiums with ten games. I considered it. Quite glad I didn't actually buy it though, as I got a better deal a few days later by F5'ing Game's website...
Was Midway behind Wheelman? If so...then that team, hehe.
Looking forward to this!
I'm commenting on this as there is a 30-sec ad for the game on the TV, hehe. I've only played the demo. I did enjoy it though and will be picking it up when it goes down in price.
I'd definitely agree about Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit!
I believe The Orange Box is the one to go for. There's really no point why you shouldn't, unless you don't like quality story based FPS and online fragging. Portal is already in there; albeit, as part of a package.
God of War hasn't ran for as long, nor does it have as many games in its series, as Resident Evil. I don't think the two can really be compared.
But I reckon many people would still associate titles like Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy and The Longest Journey with 'Adventure' rather than more action-orientated titles. But that's an old fashioned view I guess...
